Describe a memory that
defines your identity.
I have one particular memory from when I was in seventh grade. I was sitting with my two best friends under an ash tree in the fall, and I remember sitting there with them in a quiet moment watching yellow leaves spiral down out of the sky. I remember thinking, “This is just one moment in my life, and when I’m older I’ll look back at this moment and remember how wonderful my childhood was.” That was the first time I thought about myself as an older person looking back at my life. Since then, I’ve had many more happy moments when I stop and think, “This is a moment I should remember.”
